FFL News 10/01/2016

Update: All scores have been updated for games played to 10/01/2016.

After the first round of FA Cup games with EPL teams joining in, there were no big upsets. The only teams to be knocked out are Sunderland, Norwich, Southampton and Newcastle – all against Premier League opponents. Villa and West Brom also have replays after draws with Wycombe and Bristol City.

Of the wins, Man City looked most convincing in their 3-0 victory over Norwich.  A strong starting side possibly showing Pellegrini’s  intentions with the Cup this season?

In Sunday’s games, Chelsea beat Scunthorpe 2-0, (Costa with another goal alongside one from Loftus-Cheek) Spurs and Leicester drew 2-2 (Vardy and Mahrez not even in the Leicester squad and Kane on the bench for Spurs, coming on the score a late penalty) and Swansea became the first EPL team to be knocked out by lower opposition, losing 3-2 away at Oxford.

Let’s see what tomorrow’s fourth round draw brings…
