I had to get an 8/9/10 post in!! Great date format and one I feel is better than last year’s 7/8/09.
Anyhoo… On to more serious matters and it looks like the International break has left a few players nursing injuries.
Arsenal’s Robin van Persie is out until mid October and also Theo Walcott looks to be out for a couple of weeks after hurting his ankle in England’s win over Switzerland last night. Update – Walcott now thought to be out for six weeks.
Spurs defender Michael Dawson is out for up to 6 weeks and Liverpool striker Dirk Kuyt out for 4 weeks, both injured playing for their countries.
Update – Man City’s Mario Balotelli could also be out for 6 weeks as he will be undergoing knee surgery and we hear that Jermaine Defoe could be out for sis weeks too (what is it with “6 weeks”???)
In late transfer news, Everton’s James Vaughan has joined Crystal Palace for 3 months on loan.
On a more positive note, Chelsea’s John Terry and Frank Lampard could be back in time for this weekend’s matches.
