One word; Martial. Get him in your team now!

Has Dwight Gayle done enough to earn his first start of the season after a hat trick in the League Cup last night? Although 2 goals were penalties, they all count and Palace are in need of a goal scoring striker right now. As a Posh fan I’m a little biased about our old boy but every time he plays for Palace he seems to do well.

In other news, Liverpool are still awful and Harry Kane has forgotten how to score.

Don’t forget, Friday is the best day to make any transfers because all changes made before midnight Friday go live the next day as Saturday is the first day of the game week.

With the League Cup kicking in again on Tuesday, that’s all the Premier League games done and dusted for this week.

Chelsea finally got a decent win, albeit aided by some bad decisions by Arsenal players (Grrrr!). Martial scored a brace on his first Prem start and Pelle from Southampton is finding the form of 2 seasons ago – oh and Mahrez scored again and Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney didn’t.

Good luck in the cup guys…

Spurs’ new striker Son is up and running after a brace in the Europa league last night, although Harry Kane’s lean spell continued with him starting on the bench.

Liverpool don’t seem to be taking the Europa league seriously though and took a very inexperienced side to Bordeaux – Lallana scoring in disappointing 1-1 draw. Benteke, not even on the bench, was surely missed?

Chelsea finally got their season underway (albeit against weak opposition) with a much changed defense, keeping a clean sheet and scoring four goals – could this be the beginning of the end for Terry and Ivanovic?

Wenger has turned in to the new Tinker Man and it looks like dropping the excellent Cech for Ospina may have cost him in Arsenal’s opening Champion’ League game. At least Walcott scored, but the Ox and Giraud, what were they doing???

On a night when Champions’ League scores kick in, it was a miserable night for both Manchester clubs, each losing 2-1 in their opening games.

Luke Shaw suffered an horrific injury and will be out for a long time by the look of it. All at FFL towers wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully look forward to seeing him back in an England shirt next year.

McClaren vs Bilic, the rematch. All England fans would have been reliving the awful night the last time these two managers met but it will be Newcastle fans who will be upset after last night’s performance. West Ham’s new French player Dimitri Payet scored an excellent brace and is surely one to watch out for.

Managers with Harry Kane in their teams will be getting twitchy now but Leicester’s Mahrez continues to impress, even when he’s not getting the goals.  Villa fans will be cursing his name today but their 2nd half performance was poor, just as Leicester upped their game.

Onwards to Newcastle v West Ham tomorrow and if Newcastle win, Chelsea drop in the the bottom 3 – Ivanovic this season anyone?

FFL News 12/09/2015

All scores have been updated for games played to 12/09/2015.

The Prem has started back with a bang after a 12 day break and all eyes were on new United teenager Martial as he came of the bench to make his debut against Liverpool. He didn’t really do mucc – one shot, one gaol – but what a goal! Hopefully this will be the start of things to come so keep him in mind. Oh, Benteke’s goal wasn’t too shabby either.

More games to come this weekend so come back for further updates tomorrow.
